The Hotel Del Coronado is the largest beach resort on the North American Pacific Coast. The "Del" has hosted thousands of celebrities, dignitaries and travelers, but it is also a children's paradise. While parents pamper themselves, children are entertained in fully-supervised activities that are fun and educational. There are 26 beach-side acres, lush gardens, a nearby marina, two pools and a full-time Activities Department to cater to every child's whim. Accommodations are luxurious and the food is spectacular. We had the privilege of staying at the Del Coronado last May and we think this is the most beautiful hotel we have ever seen. It's beauty is elegant, yet soft spoken. Their Family package ($250/night) includes deluxe accommodations and a beach bucket filled with beach toys and a recreation voucher for biking, sailing, paddle boating, tennis or boogie boarding. The package also includes a souvenir picnic basket filled with food, drinks and a tablecloth to use on The Del's beautiful beach. The Del also has special packages for the Holiday season. Although The Del Coronado is located in San Diego where there are plenty of activities for families, you find that you never want to leave your hotel.

Educational Highlights:

The Del Coronado offers a variety of "Tent City" programs for their younger guests. These programs include arts & crafts, stories, sand castle building, tide pools, beach games and refreshments. Their teen program also offers kayaking and surfing lessons, sailing clinics and a Beach Overnighter which includes a scavenger hunt and roasted marshmallows.
