Alisal Guest Ranch

There are few places in the world where time seems reluctant to move forward. The Alisal Guest Ranch & Resort, nestled in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley horse and wine country, 35 miles northwest of Santa Barbara, California, is one such rare retreat. The Alisal has been a hideaway for generations of families, couples and groups since first welcoming guests in 1946. It’s a place where the thunder of hooves and the songs of cowboys still echo across the Ranch’s wide-open spaces.

As California’s premier guest ranch, the Alisal transports guests back to an era of "old west" elegance. Set on a 10,000 working cattle ranch, this one-of-a-kind resort blends the best of nature with exceptional golf, horseback riding, tennis, fishing, first-class accommodations and fine dining.

Our string of more than 100 horses will delight novice to expert riders. Those who would trade trail time for tee time can play either of two 18-hole championship courses – the private and challenging Ranch Course or the scenic and very popular River Course. A seven-court tennis complex will captivate players of all levels. Anglers and nature lovers will also love fishing and boating on Alisal’s private 100-acre lake.

The Alisal’s 73 ranch-style accommodations provide the cozy ambiance of home. All rooms are telephone and television-free and offer wood-burning fireplaces, high-beamed ceilings, charming covered porches and a genuine sense of comfort.

The Alisal is an experience for old hands and youngsters alike. Younger guests who visit the Barn find a petting zoo where they may bottle-feed babies and help gather eggs. Arts and crafts, talent shows, campfires and storytelling give families plenty of opportunities to gather around for good old-fashioned fun. Come see why so many guests have made the Alisal a family tradition for over half a century.

                     Deer Valley Ranch

Since 1954, Deer Valley’s philosophy has remained the same: "To provide a beautiful setting where families can vacation in a Christian atmosphere." Located between two 14,000’ peaks, the ranch is surrounded by beautiful mountain country…God’s country…and we’re glad to share it with you…by foot or by horse!

Daily hikes range from an easy hike to a waterfall to climbing a "14er". Enjoy the simple pleasure of riding…you and your horse, the scents of leather and pine, wading through a stream. Guests can ride a little or spend most of the week in the saddle, culminating in a high country ride above timberline. Experience fly-fishing in area streams or fish for native trout in high mountain lakes. Also available are rafting, complimentary golf, hayrides, square dancing, hot springs swimming pools and hot tubs.

Children will fall in love with our staff as they enjoy scavenger hunts, visit a ghost town, hike and swim. Your teens will "adventure" with our staff and other teens at an overnight campout, go tubing down the stream, play soccer or just hang out.

Hearty, homemade, fresh and healthy, our meals are served both family style as well as all-you-can-eat buffets and cookouts. Accommodations include lodge and spacious cabins, each with its own kitchen and fireplace.

As "Colorado’s Christian Family Guest Ranch", our guests receive exceptional service from friendly and caring staff for a true memory-making vacation.

Harmel's Ranch Resort and Spa

I can only imagine that ever since mankind ventured into the Rocky Mountains, our location in this valley must have been important. With abundant wildlife, numerous water sources, spectacular views, and unbelievably fantastic summer weather, we have often been described as "Paradise" or even "Heaven on Earth." We lucky few that call Harmel’s home, would like you and your family to come share our bliss.

Harmel’s Ranch Resort and Spa is situated at 8,412’ in the beautiful Taylor River Canyon. Two important tributaries, Spring Creek and Beaver Creek, form a confluence with the Taylor River right here at Harmel’s. The ranch property stops at 1.7 million acres of the Gunnison National Forest. We couldn’t have asked for a more stunning backyard!

Harmel’s is a hub among Colorado’s premier spots for summer outdoor fun. Harmel’s has it all, here on the ranch, right out your cabin door. Harmel’s is pristine, exclusive, and has its own brand of Western Hospitality. Our biggest asset is our friendly staff that comes from all over the United States and even some from overseas.

Since Harmel’s was first homesteaded and the wagons began to circle, we have had the best chuckwagon around. Now, we take tall pride in welcoming you to our beautiful dining room overlooking the Taylor River. Every meal at Harmel’s is well planned and absolutely delicious! Though we don’t make a big deal out of it, on our second seating in the evenings we add wine to our buffet. The Fire Pit Saloon is open 5 days per week, open at 4:00pm and close at 10:00pm. Beer and wine are available on Monday and Thursday at the Cookout Grounds for our BBQs.

Our activities include: horseback riding lessons and trips, whitewater rafting, fly fishing lessons and trips, rock climbing, children’s program, massage therapy, outdoor heated swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, hiking trails, horseshoes, volleyball and more!

Flexibility, in what we have to offer our guests, is top priority. Only a few resorts allow you to start your vacation on any day of the week or to stay less than six or seven days. Harmel’s is one of the few; however, it’s our packages we offer that sets us above the rest. With three plans to choose from, you can be assured that your vacation package fits your family’s desires. Live family entertainment begins around 7:30pm every night.

If you can’t make a reservation this year, we would love for you to just drop by. Maybe check out a couple of un-occupied cabins, take a horseback ride or have dinner. Once you have experienced what Harmel’s has to offer we are confident you will want to return. Give us a call toll free 1.800.235.3402 or email to stay@harmels.com.

   Bar M Ranch

Built in 1864, as a stage coach stop during the Civil War era, the historic Bar M Ranch is just as timeless as the western traditions it embraces.  Those traditions continue today, making it the ultimate destination for a fun, relaxing and memorable western vacation.  From large families to adventurous individuals, everyone is welcome here at the Bar M.  The peace, quiet and beauty of the ranch also make it an ideal location for weddings, corporate retreats, meetings and other group events.

Heading up the
Umatilla River, the Bar M Ranch is located just 30 miles east of Pendleton , Oregon .  Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Mountains, the 3,000 acre ranch is tucked away amid tall pine, fir, and cottonwood trees on the canyon floor, right next to the river itself. Experience our unique western atmosphere and let a horseback ride change your pace of life. Enjoy the fresh mountain air, natural hot springs pool, spectacular scenery, sports and recreational opportunities; amenities that make the Bar M Ranch the perfect year round vacation spot.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, our knowledgeable wranglers will match you with the right horse from our large herd.  During your visit it will be yours to groom, saddle, ride and treat as your very own. In the summer season, saddle up twice a day for one and two hour rides, guided by our wranglers.  Ride in the arena, splash through the river, or follow the mountain trails to breathtaking views.  Each week, go on an adventurous all-day ride with lunch packed in your saddlebags, and an overnight camp-out on the river (weather permitting).

We have a lot of beautiful country on our ranch, seeing it while riding is a great adventure.  The terrain is varied, from flat along the banks of the river to steep on the mountain trails.  Children must be 6 years old to ride on their own but our wranglers are glad to lead younger buckaroos on short trips around the arena.

Our riding program varies with the seasons.  We change our riding program in the off season.  We generally offer one to two hour trail rides if weather conditions allow, at a rate of $25.00 an hour per person.

For over a century people have come to swim and soak in the natural waters of Bingham Hot Springs. Imagine a swimming pool without chemicals fed by natural mineral hot springs that maintains a soothing temperature of 86 degrees, with a separate hot tub kept even warmer.  Picture yourself relaxing in the 60 x 40 foot pool, next to the clear, flowing river, and absorbing the peace and beauty of the mountains all around you.

Kids really enjoy our great selection of games at the pool and challenging the wranglers to a game of 'water baseball'. Others enjoy the peace and tranquility of a late evening dip under the stars.

On hot summer afternoons we load up the truck with inner tubes and head to the refreshing cooler waters of the river. Race down the 'rapids' or put on your goggles and watch the salmon in one of the fishing holes.

When you’re not riding or taking a swim, you’ll find plenty to do at Bar M.  Our log recreation barn offers basketball, and volleyball.  You can also try your hand at western dance and archery. Kids will enjoy getting up close and personal with a variety of animals in our critter corral.

The lush lawn offers plenty of space for horseshoes, badminton and tetherball, as well as a playground.  You’ll feel like you can almost touch the sky on the sturdy wooden swing hanging between two towering pine trees.

With three miles of the Umatilla River flowing through the property, you can fish for native trout, catch and release.  For keepers, try our stocked trout pond.

Hikers and photographers can explore the ranch amid colorful wildflowers in the spring, changing leaves in the fall and a variety of wildlife year round. Marvel at the courage of stagecoach travelers and the strength of the horses that pulled them, as you view the ruts etched deeply into a steep ridge on the mountain slope.

If you’re used to city living, it’s probably been a while since you’ve seen a sky lit up with stars. That comes with the territory at the Bar M. Join guests and wranglers around the flickering flames of a campfire, roast your own marshmallows for s’mores, tell some stories, and gaze up at the star soaked sky.

And of course, if it’s just relaxing you’re after, take a book pull up a chair on the deck or lie under a shady tree and listen to the gentle sounds of the river nearby.
