Welcome to FamilyTravel.com.
Founded by parents with a passion for family travel and experience vacationing with infants to teens, FamilyTravel.com is dedicated to making family travel fun and rewarding for the entire family. We believe finding and booking family friendly travel should be simple and straightforward.
Our own unsuccessful on-line attempts to find free, accurate, comprehensive family travel information and simple reliable on-line booking inspired FamilyTravel.com. Our goal is to bring the best family travel information, ideas and booking directly to you.

Derek Mackenzie-Hook is first and foremost a single parent who just happens to work as a travel writer. He's become a seasoned traveler with his two children with whom he has traveled the globe on many writing assignments. He is now a veteran of marathon plane flights, turbulent sea crossings and arduous car trips with toddlers through to teenagers, all of which has earned him the title of 'specialist in multigenerational travel'!!
Derek lives on a small, lochside farm in the Scottish Borders with his two sons, who are now teenagers. His favorite place to travel with children is Ireland, which was the inspiration for his much acclaimed guidebook and 'bible' for family travel in Ireland - Ireland for Kids (Mainstream Publishing). Derek is now relishing the prospect of working with FamilyTravel.com because he firmly believes that parents need all the help they can get to guide them to the places that genuinely cater for families and children, and not just tolerate them.
