Featured Destination: Montgomery, Alabama

Located on the Alabama River in the center of the state, Montgomery is a thriving city with an impressive amount of history and distinctly southern style of living. The city is filled with culture and history, but the passage of time is nice and easy.

Gulf Shores, Fort Morgan And Orange Beach form the gulf coast area of Baldwin County in the southwestern portion of Alabama bordering the Gulf of Mexico. Once separated from the mainland, Pleasure Island, on which Gulf Shores is located, was connected in 1933 by a bridge over the intracoastal waterway. Gulf Shores has grown rapidly since that time, and continues to attract residents, visitors and entrepreneurs with its beautiful sandy beaches, mild climate and numerous business opportunities. Traditionally regarded as a tourist resort community, Gulf Shores has evolved into a small town that is home to a resident population of 5000. Its natural amenities have made it particularly attractive to retirees from throughout the United States. As a result, the city's population burgeons during the winter months. Tourists raise the population during these busy summer months to over 40,000.

Little Rock will probably be remembered by many as the capital of President Clinton's home state. Yet, before this "claim to fame", Little Rock attracted visitors to its wonderful setting on the banks of the Arkansas River, surrounded by the Quachita Mountains. The city boasts over 50 parks and is only a short drive from Hot Springs National Park, renowned for its hot mineral springs. With an abundance of lakes and the River, the Little Rock area is a water sports paradise. It's easy to see why Arkansas is called "The Natural State".

Atlanta is a lively , thriving city, the capital of Georgia, and a center of commerce and the arts. Many fortune 500 companies have corporate or regional headquarters in Atlanta, and young professionals are moving there in ever increasing numbers.

Located four hours southeast of Atlanta, but a world away from the bustling, modern metropolis, Savannah offers an enchanting stroll back in time. Savannah is widely renowned for its historical features which stand as an open invitation for visitors to uncover its hidden charms. Savannah stands as a Southern emblem of the South. From luscious peach trees, Civil War history, delicious cuisine, to ethnic festivals. Elegant old mansions and century-old cemeteries provide Savannah with a rich, and colorful history. The stately mansions, moss-draped oaks, the beautifully restored historic district, stunning churches, and Southern hospitality adorn virtually every inch of the city. Savannah's old world grace gives the city a unique flavor found nowhere else in the world and the beautiful preservation of its centuries-old buildings, parks, and other properties draw tourist from all over the country.

New Orleans is proud of its well-known nickname, "Big Easy", because it so aptly describes the attitude of this lovely city, steeped in history and intertwining cultures.

Originally called "Possum Town" this quintessentially Southern town is well known to history lovers, for history literally lives here. The streets of Columbus are lined with magnificent pre-Civil War mansions. Columbus is a place where the historic architecture of old Greek columns and cupolas maintains a place of prominence among modern buildings. And inside this amicable blending of buildings is a rare combination of people who respect the best of the past, yet dedicate themselves to fostering a secure business environment that's poised for the future. The grand old homes found outlying the streets of Columbus are privately owned and beautifully restored. Two homes that are a must see when visiting Columbus are Liberty Hall and Amzi Love, both these homes have remained in the same family since they were built in the 1800's. Some of those homes are now bed and breakfast inns, complete with period antiques and Southern hospitality. From Mardi Gras-like "krewes" that carry on during the annual spring Pilgrimage, to an annual barbecue cook-off contest called the Pigfest, Columbus is a festive town where annual events and celebrations flourish year round.

Country music's home is based in the heart of Nashville. But even if you are not a country lover, there's still plenty to do. Museums, sporting events, history, it's all here. So come and pack up your things and take a ride to Music City USA.

Put on your blue suede shoes and drop on in. Whether it is the strains of the Blues calling to your ears, the smell of old fashioned Southern barbecue calling to your nose, or the myriad sights that catch your eye, there is something unique about the city of Memphis. Visitors are welcomed to this heritage-rich city located on the banks of the mighty Mississippi River with typical Southern hospitality. If you stay for a week or two, you may never want to go home.

Gatlinburg, Tennessee is most famous as the western entrance to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. The city itself claims fame as a skiing resort, and there are numerous other attractions nearby that keep people in town before they head to the mountains. Gatlinburg is noted for its mountain handicraft shops, and local points of interest include the Homespun Valley Mountaineer Village and the Christus Gardens, a series of dioramas depicting the life of Christ. But most come to see and enjoy the Great Smokey Mountains.
